WHY A2 MILK

HOW WE CARE FOR OUR COWS

One Small Protein, One Big Difference

Milk has been a part of Indian tradition for centuries, valued in Ayurveda as a nourishing and wholesome food. However, not all milk is the same. The key difference lies in the type of protein it contains.

Most commercial dairy milk contains both A1 and A2 beta-casein proteins. During digestion, A1 protein may release a compound called BCM-7, which some people find difficult to tolerate.

A2 milk, on the other hand, contains only the naturally occurring A2 beta-casein protein. Produced by indigenous Gir cows, it is considered closer to the milk our ancestors traditionally consumed.

At Gaushaktiii, our Gir cows are raised with care, fed natural fodder, and nurtured in a stress-free environment. The result is pure A2 milk that reflects the goodness of traditional farming and the authenticity of nature.

Why A2 Milk Matters

A1 Milk

  • ✕ Releases BCM-7 peptide during digestion
  • ✕ Harder for the body to break down
  • ✕ Commonly found in commercial dairy breeds

A2 Milk

  • ✓ Naturally free from BCM-7 peptide
  • ✓ Gentle and easy to digest
  • ✓ Sourced from indigenous Gir cows

Natural

Pure milk from indigenous Gir cows raised with ethical care.

The Benefits

Why Families Switch to A2

Easy to Digest

Without the A1 protein found in regular milk, A2 milk is naturally gentler on the stomach and easier for many people to enjoy every day.

Naturally Nutritious

Packed with calcium, protein, vitamins, and essential minerals, A2 milk provides wholesome nutrition while maintaining its natural purity.

Ethical & Natural

Our cows are raised with care, natural feed, and a stress-free lifestyle, ensuring quality milk produced the traditional way.

Gir Cow
THE SOURCE

Why the Gir Cow?

The journey of pure A2 milk begins with the right breed. The Gir cow, native to Gujarat's Gir Forest, is one of India's most respected indigenous cattle breeds and is naturally known for producing A2 milk.

For generations, Gir cows have been valued not only for the quality of their milk but also for their resilience, gentle nature, and ability to thrive in natural farming environments. Their milk has long been associated with traditional Indian dairy practices and Ayurvedic wisdom.

HOW WE CARE FOR OUR COWS

One Small Protein, One Big Difference

What exactly is A2 milk?

A2 milk is milk that contains only the A2 beta-casein protein, naturally produced by indigenous Gir cows. Unlike regular milk that may contain A1 protein, A2 milk is considered closer to the milk traditionally consumed in India.

Is Gaushaktiii milk really 100% A2?

Yes. Our milk comes exclusively from carefully selected indigenous Gir cows that naturally produce A2 milk. We maintain strict standards to ensure purity and authenticity.

How is A2 milk easier to digest?

A2 milk does not contain the A1 beta-casein protein, which can release BCM-7 during digestion. Many people find A2 milk gentler on the stomach and easier to digest.

Is A2 Milk Natural?

Yes, a2 Milk is naturally occurring cows’ milk; it’s not a result of a technological process or genetic engineering. We simply select cows that produce only A2 protein.

Is a2 Milk suitable for people with a lactose intolerance?

a2 Milk is real, natural milk, and contains the same amount of lactose as ordinary cows’ milk, so it’s not an option for people who have been clinically diagnosed with lactose intolerance.
However, data from an independent US study (published in 2009) shows that 1 in 4 Americans have discomfort after drinking milk and most of these people are diagnosing themselves as lactose intolerant without evaluation by a health care professional. The research shows only a small proportion would actually be diagnosed as lactose intolerant. We’ve found the majority are just likely to have a sensitivity to the A1 protein.
